Mega Millions Jackpot Hits $264 Million for June 13 Drawing

Atlanta, GA – The Mega Millions lottery jackpot has risen to an estimated $264 million for the drawing on Friday, June 13, after no one matched all the winning numbers in the previous drawing on Tuesday, June 10. Players have the option of taking a one-time cash payment of $117.3 million if they win.
This year has seen three Mega Millions winners, with the most recent claiming a $112 million jackpot. Earlier, one player won $344 million on March 25. If someone is lucky enough to match all six numbers in this drawing, they will join the ranks of these recent winners.
The winning numbers from the June 13 drawing are: 8, 10, 22, 40, 47, and the Mega Ball is 1. Lottery officials will announce if there are any jackpot winners.
Players can purchase Mega Millions tickets at various locations, including convenience stores and gas stations. In some states, tickets can also be bought online. A Mega Millions ticket costs $5, and players can choose six numbers – five from a pool of white balls numbered 1 to 70, and one from a pool of gold Mega Balls numbered 1 to 24.
For those who do not want to choose their own numbers, there is a ‘Quick Pick’ or ‘Easy Pick’ option, where a computer randomly generates numbers. Recently, the lottery added a built-in multiplier which increases non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times, included in the ticket price. Previously, players paid an extra dollar for this option.
Tickets must be purchased by 10 p.m. in most states, but deadlines can vary, especially for online purchases. The next Mega Millions drawing is set for Tuesday, June 17, at 11 p.m.
Winning the Mega Millions jackpot comes with odds of 1 in 290,472,336. Jackpot winners can choose between a cash option or an annuity payment plan. The annuity is paid out in one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments, increasing by 5% each year.
