Mega Millions Jackpot Reaches $579 Million

The Mega Millions jackpot has reached $579 million with a cash option of $278.4 million, according to the Peoria Journal Star. The jackpot continues to grow after no one matched all six numbers in the latest drawing.

The winning numbers for Friday’s drawing were 16, 21, 33, 39, 45, and the Mega Ball was 24. The Megaplier was 2X. Results are pending.

Powerball numbers: You only need to match one number in Mega Millions to win. However, that number must be the Mega Ball, worth $2. Matching two numbers won’t win anything in Mega Millions unless one of the numbers is the Mega Ball. A ticket matching one of the five numbers and the Mega Ball is worth $4.

Mega Millions numbers you need to know: Drawings are held two times per week at approximately 10 p.m. CT every Tuesday and Friday. A Mega Millions ticket costs $2 per play. For an additional $1, players can add the Megaplier to potentially increase their winnings outside of the jackpot.
