Memphis Tigers Face Central Arkansas in Final Home Game

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis baseball team is set to host Central Arkansas at FedExPark Avron Fogelman Field on Tuesday afternoon at 4:05 p.m. This matchup marks the 34th and final home game of the season. Fans can stream the game live on ESPN+ with Jeff Brightwell providing coverage.
This game will be the 17th all-time meeting between the two teams, and Memphis leads the series 13-3. Last season, the Tigers defeated the Bears 14-4 in eight innings at home. Earlier this season, Memphis achieved a convincing 13-3 victory in a road game against Central Arkansas.
Currently, the Tigers hold a record of 21-30 with an 8-16 mark in the American Athletic Conference. They recently concluded a three-game series against Tulane, losing two games before securing a 15-6 victory in the finale. Memphis is tied with Wichita State for the last spot in the AAC Tournament, with one week remaining in the regular season.
Central Arkansas enters the match with a record of 19-29 and 12-15 in the ASUN Conference. They recently dropped a series against Austin Peay, winning one game but losing the series two games to one.
For the upcoming game, Memphis will start left-handed pitcher who boasts a 3-0 record with a 6.07 ERA, marking his first start since April 19. The Bears will counter with right-handed pitcher Bryce Parlin. Notably, Memphis catcher is tied for 14th nationally in throwing out runners, successfully stopping 49% of attempted steals this season.
Memphis has turned 47 double plays this season, leading The American and ranking sixth nationally in this category. They trail UCLA, the national leader, by just six double plays.
Central Arkansas’s top hitters include Bryce Cermenelli with a .395 batting average, Zeb Allen with nine home runs, and Preston Curtis contributing significantly as well.
