Quebec Ministers Geneviève Guilbault and Mathieu Lacombe have revealed their decision to end their relationship after being together for three years. The pair, known for their roles in the government and their occasional appearances together, shared the news on their social media platforms.

The couple, who have been a subject of much speculation in the political and artistic circles, had maintained their relationship since 2018. Despite their separation, Guilbault and Lacombe expressed their commitment to maintaining a positive relationship both personally and professionally following this decision.

In a joint message posted online, the Ministers stated, “Hello everyone, We are not used to sharing details of our private life on social media, although we have occasionally posted a few photos. However, life sometimes brings significant changes that we must announce. Mathieu and I have decided to end our three-year relationship. It is a mutual decision that we made serenely. Although this chapter is closing, since 2018, we have primarily been colleagues and friends who respect each other. It is with this same mindset that we look towards the future. Geneviève and Mathieu.”

Notably, the duo had made headlines during the Gala Les Olivier in March 2023, amidst rumors of their split. Despite the ongoing speculation, the pair had even coordinated their outfits for the event, sparking further discussions.

The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Guilbault, and her partner, the Minister of Culture and Communications, Lacombe, had faced rumors of a breakup before, yet they had successfully quelled the gossip through their continued public appearances together.

Moreover, the couple had previously released a joint statement to address the ongoing rumors surrounding their relationship. As they move forward separately, the well-wishes pour in for Guilbault and Lacombe in their individual endeavors.
