Mohammed Siraj Virat Kohli Warm Embrace Cricket

BENGALURU, India — Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowler Mohammed Siraj reunites with Indian cricket star Virat Kohli at M Chinnaswamy Stadium ahead of the highly anticipated IPL match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans on April 2.

Siraj, who played for RCB for seven seasons, was released by the franchise before the 2025 IPL season. He was subsequently acquired by Gujarat Titans during the mega auction for a reported INR 12.25 crores. The right-arm pacer is eager to prove himself with his new team after a successful stint with RCB, where he claimed 83 wickets.

On April 1, the day before the game, Siraj was spotted interacting warmly with former teammates during their training session. A video of Siraj embracing Kohli has gone viral on social media. The two shared a lengthy conversation, adding personal stakes to the upcoming match.

In addition to Kohli, Siraj also engaged with teammates Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal, showcasing the camaraderie that developed during his years with RCB. Despite the transition, it’s evident that Siraj still holds fond memories of his time with the franchise.

Siraj’s journey with RCB began in IPL 2017 when he joined the team after being released by another franchise. Over the years, he solidified his role as a leading pacer, especially during his last two seasons, where he took 34 wickets over as many matches. His absence in RCB’s roster for IPL 2025 came as a surprise to many fans and analysts alike.

As the match approaches, all eyes will be on Siraj as he faces his former team. With his competitive spirit and track record, he is expected to deliver a thrilling performance at his former home ground.
