Morgan Wallen Sand In My Boots Festival

MOBILE, Ala. – Renowned country music artist Morgan Wallen has announced he will headline a new music festival titled “Sand In My Boots” in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The festival is set to take place over three days from May 16-18, 2025, marking Wallen’s first endeavor of this kind.

Public Relations Director Emily Diament described the event as a “one-of-a-kind festival” featuring a diverse array of artists, including some of Wallen’s closest friends and musicians he has long admired. “Morgan had a vision for this festival and wanted to bring it to life,” Diament stated. She added that the producers and staff from Hangout Fest provided a “match made in heaven” for the festival’s venue and execution.

The announcement, however, has caused disappointment among fans of the traditional Hangout Fest, which will not take place as scheduled due to the new event. Kylie Scioneaux, a regular attendee of the Hangout Fest, expressed mixed feelings. “It was kind of an escape to be able to hear different genres and a different atmosphere,” she commented.

Wallen’s festival shares its name with his 2022 No. 1 Billboard Country Airplay hit “Sand In My Boots.” Wallen expressed his excitement in a social media video, saying, “We’re heading south to the beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama, and I’m bringing some good friends with me.”

Involved in the festival’s creation are several industry leaders. Stacy Vee, executive vice president of Goldenvoice and producer of Stagecoach, stated, “Creating a Festival with Morgan has been a dream come true.” Similarly, AEG Presents and Hangout Festival Producer Reeves Price highlighted the opportunity as “something very special,” coinciding with the Hangout Festival’s 15th anniversary.

The full talent lineup and ticketing details for the Sand In My Boots Festival will be unveiled in the coming weeks. The festival aims to offer a multi-genre experience that aligns with Wallen’s eclectic taste in music.

The Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Tourism, whose President and CEO is Beth Gendler, expressed anticipatory excitement about hosting the festival, declaring that the city looks forward to welcoming visitors for this unique music experience.

The Sand In My Boots event follows Wallen’s previous involvement in the now-postponed Field & Stream Music Festival with Eric Church. Initially set for early October in South Carolina, it was canceled due to Hurricane Helene.
