Msc Cruises Makes Historic Debut With Amazon River Voyage

MSC Cruises, renowned for its global voyages, achieved a significant milestone recently with the historic debut of one of its ships, MSC Poesia, on the iconic Amazon River in Brazil. The vessel embarked on its maiden Amazon journey on March 9, treating guests to breathtaking views of the lush Amazon Forest before making its first port of call in Manaus, the vibrant capital city of Amazonas.

Continuing its voyage, MSC Poesia sailed to the Pará state, making stops at the picturesque destinations of Alter do Chão on March 16 and Belém on March 18, showcasing the company’s expansion into Brazil’s North Region. Additionally, the ship made technical stops in Fazendinha, Amapá on March 11 and March 17, enhancing its presence in the region.

The 2,550-guest MSC Poesia is part of a 120-night itinerary that commenced in Italy and is set to conclude in Germany in May. Encompassing visits to 52 destinations across 31 countries and territories, the voyage is a testament to MSC Cruises’ commitment to offering diverse and enriching travel experiences.

Following its Amazon River expedition, MSC Poesia charted a course towards the Caribbean, with scheduled visits to idyllic destinations like Barbados and the Bahamas, including a stop at MSC’s exclusive private island destination, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.

During the 2023-24 winter season, six MSC Cruises ships, including MSC Seaview, MSC Preziosa, MSC Musica, MSC Lirica, MSC Armonia, and the MSC Grandiosa, catered to the Brazilian and South American markets. The MSC Grandiosa, the largest cruise ship in Brazil, rounded out the fleet, underscoring MSC Cruises’ commitment to providing unparalleled cruise experiences.
