2025 Women's College World Series Teams

Oklahoma City, OK — The field for the 2025 Women’s College World Series is down to the final four teams. On June 1, elimination games determined who would advance to the national semifinals of the NCAA softball tournament.

No. 6 Texas and No. 12 Texas Tech are poised to play on June 2, needing only one win each to reach the best-of-three championship series beginning on Wednesday at Devon Park. Texas aims for its second consecutive appearance in the WCWS finals, while Texas Tech, under the leadership of ace NiJaree Canady, seeks its first-ever championship berth.

Meanwhile, No. 2 Oklahoma and No. 7 Tennessee showcased resilience on June 1, staving off elimination. Both teams now face the pressure of needing two consecutive wins to continue their tournament journey. Their fate hangs in the balance, as another loss will eliminate them from contention.

The schedule for June 2 promises excitement with possible matchups between the Texas Longhorns and the Tennessee Volunteers in the first game, and the Texas Tech Red Raiders against the Oklahoma Sooners in the evening.

The WCWS commenced on May 29 with eight teams competing for the national title, and after various elimination games, it has been condensed to these four contenders.

As it stands, June 2 is set to bring thrilling semifinals, featuring Texas and Tennessee at 11 a.m. ET, while Texas Tech will clash with Oklahoma later in the day.

The championship series is expected to conclude by June 6, with all games broadcast on ESPN. Beth Mowins, Jessica Mendoza, and Michele Smith will provide commentary for the early games, while Kevin Brown and Amanda Scarborough will cover the later matchups. Streaming is available via the ESPN app for those with cable subscriptions.
