LINCOLN, Neb. — The future of Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola is uncertain as speculation mounts that he may explore the transfer portal once again. Sources indicate that Raiola’s camp has been in discussions about his options as the Nebraska Cornhuskers prepare for offseason changes.

Last year, Raiola remained with Nebraska after informal talks with other programs about a potential transfer. However, reports suggest that this year’s situation may be different, particularly following his brother Dayton’s recent decision to decommit from the Huskers’ 2026 recruiting class.

Raiola has been out since November 1 due to a broken fibula sustained during a game against USC. While his injury ended his season, it is not expected to hinder his ability to start next season. Currently, he is Nebraska’s highest-paid player, earning about $3.5 million this season.

Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule addressed the rumors, stating, “I haven’t seen that report. I would never get up here and talk about a player. I love Dylan like I love all my guys.” Rhule emphasized Raiola’s commitment to recovery.

This season, Raiola threw for 2,000 yards, completing 72.4% of his passes, with 18 touchdowns against six interceptions. Overall, he has amassed 4,819 yards, with 31 touchdowns and 17 interceptions over two seasons with Nebraska.

As the Cornhuskers finish the regular season with a 7-4 record, the team is optimistic about the future of their quarterback lineup, particularly with freshman TJ Lateef stepping in effectively during Raiola’s absence.

The college football transfer portal opens on January 2, but discussions surrounding player movements are already underway across the nation. Nebraska is also expected to boost its NIL and revenue-sharing payouts in the upcoming season to retain key players.
