Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee Hits Six Sixes in One Over in T20 Match Against Qatar
Nepal‘s cricketer Dipendra Singh Airee made headlines on Saturday by becoming only the third player in international T20 cricket history to achieve the remarkable feat of hitting six consecutive sixes in a single over. Airee accomplished this extraordinary feat during Nepal’s match against Qatar in the ACC Men's Premier Cup tournament held in Al Amerat.
This impressive display of power hitting saw Airee join the elite company of Yuvraj Singh and Kieron Pollard, who had previously achieved this feat in international T20 matches. Airee’s six sixes came against Qatar’s bowler Kamran Khan, propelling Nepal to a commanding total of 210 for 7 in their innings.
Nepal, gearing up for their second appearance in the T20 World Cup later this year, secured a convincing victory over Qatar by 32 runs. Airee’s explosive innings, where he remained unbeaten on 64 runs off just 21 deliveries, showcased his immense talent and aggressive approach to batting.
Having previously achieved a similar feat in a match against Mongolia during the Asian Games in Hangzhou, Airee once again displayed his ability to dominate bowling attacks with his six-hitting prowess. His consistent performances have made him a key player for Nepal as they prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA.
Nepal will kick off their T20 World Cup campaign against the Netherlands in Dallas on June 4, followed by crucial group stage clashes against South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. Airee’s remarkable achievement has not only brought him personal glory but has also put Nepal’s cricketing talent in the global spotlight.
