F1 Academy Netflix Docuseries

Los Angeles, CA — Netflix is set to debut its latest docuseries, ‘F1: The Academy’, on May 28, 2025. The seven-episode series will follow the F1 Academy, showcasing the journeys of young female drivers aspiring to succeed in open-wheel racing.

Produced by Reese Witherspoon‘s company, Hello Sunshine, ‘F1: The Academy’ aims to tell stories from a female perspective and highlight the achievements and challenges of women in motorsports. The docuseries will cover events from the 2024 F1 Academy season, following races at significant venues like Jeddah, Miami, and Barcelona.

“We want to be the rocket fuel that drives female participation in our sport, both on and off the track,” said Susie Wolff, manager of F1 Academy. Wolff emphasized the importance of global visibility for women’s sports and how the partnership with Netflix aids this mission.

The series is expected to feature various personalities, including F1 drivers like Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris, as well as F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali. However, the appearance of three-time W Series champion Jamie Chadwick remains unconfirmed.

Fans can binge all seven episodes starting at midnight Pacific Time. ‘F1: The Academy’ joins the ranks of popular sports docuseries like ‘Drive to Survive’, though it is produced by a different company. This unique approach aims to provide a more female-forward narrative in the world of F1.

As the series releases just ahead of the summer racing season, it is poised to inspire a new generation of female racers and expand the viewer base for women’s motorsports.
