Nepal Vs Netherlands T20 Match

GLASGOW, Scotland — In a historic showdown, the Netherlands claimed victory over Nepal in a thrilling T20I match that featured an unprecedented three Super Overs on June 16, 2025. This event marked the first time a men’s international match has required three tie-breaks.

The Netherlands set a target of 152 runs, leaving Nepal needing 16 runs in the last over to win. Nandan Yadav heroically leveled the score with two boundary shots, forcing the match into a Super Over.

In the first Super Over, Nepal, batting first, scored 19 runs with Kushal Bhurtel smashing two sixes and a four. The Netherlands responded strongly, with Michael Levitt hitting a six and a four off the final two balls to also score 19, sending the match into a second Super Over.

The Netherlands batted first again in the second tie-break, posting 17 runs. Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee made a dramatic impact by hitting a six on the last ball, leveling the game once more and leading to a third Super Over.

In the final Super Over, off-spinner Jack Luiten Katché delivered a perfect over for the Netherlands, taking the wickets of Rohit Paudel and Rupesh Singh without conceding any runs. Michael Levitt sealed the win for the Netherlands with a six off Sandeep Lamichhane‘s first delivery.

This remarkable victory comes after the Dutch lost their opening match of the series against Scotland. They will take a rest day on Tuesday before facing Scotland again on Wednesday, while Nepal will play Scotland the same day. Currently, Scotland leads the tri-series with two points and a superior net run rate.
