New Hampshire Residents Boycott Avelo Airlines Amid ICE Contract Protests

Manchester, New Hampshire – A group of residents in New Hampshire is joining a national boycott against Avelo Airlines. The protest is aimed at urging the airline to terminate its contract with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
On Saturday, about a dozen demonstrators gathered at the Interstate 293 exit leading to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. Organizer Diane Kolifrath carried a sign that read, “Boycott Evil Avelo; Don’t fly deportation airlines!”
Kolifrath expressed concerns over the deportations conducted under the previous Trump administration, stating, “These people have been abducted and are being moved out of state, across state lines and across international lines, without any crime committed or any due process whatsoever.” She emphasized the need for lawmakers to halt incentives for Avelo, such as tax breaks and government contracts.
In response to the protest, Avelo Communications Manager Courtney Goff stated, “While we recognize the right of individuals to peacefully assemble, Avelo’s main priority will continue to be maintaining the safety and timeliness of our operation.”
State Representative Seth Miller from Dover is also part of the boycott efforts. He has funded billboards near Tweed Airport in New Haven, Connecticut, that encourage travelers to join the protest against Avelo.
Miller commented, “I’m under no delusion that Avelo stopping these flights means these flights stop. But it makes it a little harder, makes it a little more expensive.” He hopes that raising awareness about the boycott will lead to further actions against such airlines.
