2025 New Orleans Jazz Fest Lineup and Poster Revealed
NEW ORLEANS — Organizers of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival announced the 2025 lineup and unveiled the official festival poster today, featuring Grammy-nominated band Tank and the Bangas. The festival will run from Thursday, April 24, to Sunday, May 4, 2025, at the Fair Grounds Race Course.
Josh Danzig, owner of Where Y’at Magazine, hinted at potential headliners, including Pearl Jam, Green Day, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, and Arcade Fire. “Many of these artists have open dates during the festival or are already scheduled to perform in the region,” Danzig said. Other rumored performers include Mavis Staples, Bonnie Raitt, Melissa Etheridge, Dave Matthews, and Gwen Stefani.
The 2025 festival poster, titled “Hear and Now: Tank and the Bangas @ Jazz Fest,” was created by renowned New Orleans artist James Michalopoulos. The vibrant painting captures Tarriona “Tank” Ball, the band’s lead vocalist, performing with her eclectic ensemble. “We are honored to be the face that ushers in millions of music lovers around the world,” Ball said in a statement.
Michalopoulos, known for his iconic Jazz Fest posters, described the band as “theatrical” and “engrossing.” He said, “I hope I brought some of their exotic quality and their concerted effort to the painting.” This marks his eighth Jazz Fest poster, following designs featuring legends like Louis Armstrong, Fats Domino, and Dr. John.
Tank and the Bangas, who blend rap, funk, jazz, and gospel, have performed at Jazz Fest seven times. The band gained national attention after winning NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest in 2017 and has since earned two Grammy nominations. “This is such a momentous occasion and beautiful day for Tank and The Bangas!” Ball added.
The festival poster, a collector’s item, will be available in limited editions, with prices ranging from $75 to $1,329. The 2025 Jazz Fest promises to draw music lovers from around the globe, continuing its legacy as one of the world’s premier music events.
