Newcastle's Miguel Almirón And Callum Wilson Rumored To Leave, Kieran Trippier's Future Uncertain

Newcastle‘s Miguel Almirón has caught the attention of Saudi Arabia‘s Al-Shabab, creating a potential dilemma for the club’s majority Saudi owners. Although selling the 29-year-old winger could make financial sense for Newcastle as they work within the Premier League‘s profit and sustainability rules (PSR), it would only be viable if a suitable replacement is lined up, particularly with Eddie Howe‘s injury-plagued squad.

Similar uncertainty surrounds England striker Callum Wilson, as he turns 32 next month and has attracted interest from both Atlético Madrid and recently Milan. While the potential departure of Wilson may be considered, Newcastle would need to secure a suitable replacement to maintain squad depth.

Kieran Trippier, Newcastle’s right-back, trained with the team on Monday while waiting to hear whether Bayern Munich would make an offer. Although the 31-year-old full-back is said to be interested in joining Thomas Tuchel and his former Tottenham teammates Harry Kane and Eric Dier at Chelsea, it is unlikely he will create any disruption if he remains at Newcastle.

While Tuchel has expressed admiration for Trippier, it remains to be seen whether Bayern will make a convincing offer. Trippier’s transfer to Newcastle cost the club £12 million two years ago, and he currently earns around £120,000 per week.

It is worth noting that Newcastle potentially selling Almirón to a Saudi club to circumvent PSR may draw attention from other Premier League rivals. However, there are no regulations preventing such a transfer, particularly as Al-Shabab, the potential buyers, are not owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), which holds an 80% stake in the Newcastle club.
