NFL Scouts Eye Ole Miss QB and Draft Prospects at Pro Day

OXFORD, Miss. — NFL decision-makers gathered at the Manning Athletics Performance Center on Friday to evaluate Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart and other NFL Draft prospects during the Rebels’ pro day.
Dart was among 26 players showcasing their skills, a pivotal opportunity for athletes hoping to secure their place in the upcoming NFL Draft. He participated in a series of drills, throwing approximately 65 passes that highlighted his arm strength and accuracy.
Notable NFL figures in attendance included coaches Kellen Moore and Brian Schottenheimer, as well as quarterbacks coach Shea Tierny, who spoke with Dart following his workout. Dart’s performance garnered attention, particularly with a standout throw: a 55-yard sideline go route perfectly placed in the hands of receiver Juice Wells.
Benjamin Watson, SEC Network analyst, praised Dart’s showing, stating, “Obviously Jaxson Dart was the headliner. I thought he threw the ball extremely well. The receivers caught the ball well, except for a few drops late once they got tired. Exciting to see so many NFL front office personnel.”
Dart’s college career at Ole Miss leaves a significant legacy, setting school records with 10,617 passing yards and 28 wins. Last season, three Ole Miss players were drafted, and the current talent could see that number rise to double digits in the 2025 draft.
In addition to Dart, defensive tackle Walter Nolen also caught the eyes of scouts, participating only in positional work and the bench press. Nolen completed 27 reps of 225 pounds, a performance that would rank him fifth among defensive tackles at the NFL combine.
Notably, senior cornerback Brandon Turnage showcased exceptional athleticism with a vertical jump measuring 41.5 inches, tying him for second place with four others at the NFL combine. Turnage played in 12 games for Ole Miss last season, achieving 24 tackles and one interception.
As the interplay of talent and opportunity unfolds, both Dart and his teammates are poised for significant futures in professional football.
