Nhai Advises Paytm Fastag Users To Procure New Fastag As Paytm Payments Bank Services Close

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued an advisory to Paytm FASTag users following the Reserve Bank of India‘s decision to shut down Paytm Payments Bank services. Paytm Payments Bank, a major issuer of FASTags, will no longer be accepting new clients or transactions from March 15 onwards.

In light of this development, NHAI has recommended that existing Paytm FASTag users deactivate their accounts by tomorrow and obtain a new FASTag from an NHAI-authorized issuer to avoid penalties and double fee charges while using national highways.

Users can initiate the closure process for their Paytm FASTag accounts by visiting the Paytm website or logging in through the app. They should navigate to the FASTag section, access Account Management in Settings, and look for the option to deactivate the FASTag account.

Once the closure request is processed successfully, Paytm will notify users via email or app notification, confirming the closure within 5-7 working days. The security deposit and any minimum balance in the account will be refunded to the user’s Paytm Payments Bank wallet.

If users encounter any difficulties in closing their Paytm FASTag accounts, they are advised to contact Paytm customer support by dialing the toll-free number 1800-120-4210. Users will need to provide their mobile number associated with the FASTag account and the vehicle’s Registration number or FASTag ID for verification.
