NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Heads to zMax Dragway for Key Event

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series returns to the Eastern time zone for the American Rebel Light NHRA 4-Wide Nationals at zMax Dragway from April 25 to 27, 2025. This event marks the second of three four-wide races this season.

This weekend’s races will see popular categories, including Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle, along with the Congruity NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series and other classes. The event begins with qualifying sessions on Friday and Saturday, leading up to final eliminations on Sunday.

Last time out at The Strip in Las Vegas, Tony Stewart snagged his first Top Fuel victory, joining an elite list of drivers with wins across NASCAR, IndyCar, and NHRA. This win made him the fourth different victor in four events this season, alongside Antron Brown, Shawn Langdon, and Clay Millican.

This year’s event is particularly historic as it celebrates the NHRA’s 1,000th Top Fuel race since its inception at the 1963 NHRA Winternationals. The competition remains fierce with the top five Funny Car drivers separated by just 100 points.

In Pro Stock, KB Titan Racing teammates Greg Anderson and Dallas Glenn lead the standings, having won the initial four events together. With 25 cars pre-entered, securing a spot on Sunday will be a challenging task for many drivers.

Pro Stock Motorcycle competitors are also eager to take to the track after a break since the opening event in Gainesville, where reigning champion Gaige Herrera took the win.

This weekend will include the fourth Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge, utilizing a unique four-car format during qualifying. Fans can also engage in fantasy gaming and betting through PlayNHRA, offering a range of wagering options.

Betting favorites for the Top Fuel category include Antron Brown, with opening odds of +550, while reigning champion Austin Prock has odds of +270. The event promises high-stakes excitement for drivers and fans alike, as Charlotte is expected to deliver thrilling racing.
