Nintendo Set to Reveal New Switch Games in Upcoming Direct

REDMOND, Wash. — Nintendo is preparing to host a live Direct presentation on March 27, 2025, featuring 30 minutes of gameplay announcements for the original Nintendo Switch. Fans will have to wait until April 2 for any news regarding the anticipated Switch 2.
The upcoming Direct is aimed at showcasing new titles to keep the original console active as it nears the end of its lifecycle. According to Nintendo, the presentation will not include updates or leaks about the next-generation hardware, focusing instead on existing Switch games.
This marks one of the final opportunities for players to learn about new gaming experiences before the launch of the Switch’s successor, expected in late spring or early summer. In a statement, Nintendo confirmed, “There will be no updates about Nintendo Switch 2 during this presentation.”
The Direct will begin at 7 a.m. PDT / 10 a.m. EDT on Nintendo’s official streaming channels. Given the current excitement surrounding the new hardware, many are speculating on what games will be featured. Fans have expressed hope for remasters, particularly for titles like “The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker” and “Twilight Princess.”
“Nintendo has millions of loyal fans waiting to see these classic titles come back to life on the Switch,” said gaming analyst Leah J. Williams. “There’s a definite appetite for nostalgic remakes as we transition to the next console.”
While details remain sparse about specific titles on the agenda, some of the major expected reveals include gameplay footage from upcoming blockbuster titles. Industry insiders have hinted at a potential showcase for “Metroid Prime 4” and “Pokémon Legends: Z-A,” which may resonate well with longtime Nintendo fans.
Twitter user and gaming enthusiast Rory Mellon stated, “It’s time for Nintendo to bring ‘Wind Waker HD’ to Switch. The fanbase has been waiting too long for this port.”
The Nintendo Direct comes on the heels of heightened anticipation for the company’s future. With a new console launching within the next few months, players are eager for any information that may connect to their favorite gaming experiences on the Switch.
Despite the focus on the current platform, the confirmed backward compatibility of the Switch 2 adds a layer of excitement, as games revealed in this Direct will also be playable on the new system when it launches.
As the Direct approaches, fans are encouraged to tune in for what could potentially be one of the final updates for the original Nintendo Switch. Gaming enthusiasts worldwide will be watching closely for announcements and updates that could influence the future of Nintendo gaming.
