Notre Dame Vs Boston College Basketball Game 2025

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Notre Dame snapped a four-game losing streak with a decisive 78-60 victory over Boston College on Monday night at Purcell Pavilion. The Fighting Irish (8-9, 2-4 ACC) secured their first win since Dec. 22, ending a challenging stretch that included losses to Georgia Tech, North Carolina, NC State, and No. 4 Duke.

Markus Burton led the charge for Notre Dame, scoring 26 points, while Tae Davis added 20. The Irish dominated the paint, outscoring Boston College 40-18, despite shooting just 3-of-15 from 3-point range. Burton’s two free throws with 5:24 remaining in the second half gave Notre Dame its first double-digit lead at 60-50, sealing the momentum for the home team.

Boston College (9-8, 1-5 ACC) struggled to keep pace, with its leading scorer finishing with 17 points. The Eagles, who entered the game averaging double figures from two key players, saw both combine for just 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting.

Notre Dame head coach Micah Shrewsberry praised his team’s resilience after the game. “We needed this win to get back on track,” he said. “The guys fought hard, and it showed in our performance tonight.”

The Irish had lost six of their last seven matchups against Boston College, making Monday’s victory particularly significant. Davis, who has emerged as a standout player this season, continued his strong form, averaging 17.3 points per game over his last four outings.

Both teams will return to action on Saturday. Boston College will host No. 3 Duke, while Notre Dame travels to face Syracuse.
