No. 3 Notre Dame Women’s Basketball Begins Road Trip at Boston College
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — No. 3 Notre Dame (16-2, 7-0) will begin a three-game road trip Thursday night against Boston College (12-8, 3-4) at Conte Forum. The Irish, riding an 11-game winning streak, look to maintain their dominance in the ACC.
Notre Dame’s offense has been firing on all cylinders, with key players Maddy Westbeld and Hannah Hidalgo back in the lineup. Hidalgo, who missed two games due to an ankle sprain, returned Sunday against SMU with a standout performance of 23 points and 10 rebounds. Olivia Miles also shined, recording her 25th career double-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists.
The Irish rank among the nation’s top 10 in scoring offense, rebounds, assists, and blocks per game. They lead the country in 3-point shooting at 41.3%, with Miles shooting an impressive 44.8% from beyond the arc.
Boston College enters the game with momentum, having won back-to-back ACC games against Miami and Syracuse. The Eagles’ offense was led by Dontavia Waggoner (22 points) and Teya Sidberry (21 points) in their recent victory over Syracuse. T’yana Todd also contributed, going 4-5 from 3-point range.
Despite their recent success, Boston College ranks ninth in scoring offense and 11th in scoring defense in the ACC. However, they excel in ball movement, averaging 16.5 assists per game, led by Kaylah Ivey, who ranks second in the conference with 6.1 assists per game.
Thursday’s game tips off at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra. Notre Dame holds a 30-9 all-time record against Boston College and has won the last five matchups.
