Novak Djokovic French Open 2025

PARIS, FranceNovak Djokovic reached the fourth round of the French Open for the 16th consecutive year on Saturday night, defeating qualifier Fili Misolic 6-3, 6-4, 6-2. The match was notably lively, as Paris Saint-Germain fans cheered goals from their team’s Champions League final, played simultaneously just a few blocks away.

Djokovic expressed surprise at the enthusiastic crowd. ‘It was interesting. The crowd was really following the game. And I could hear when they scored. It was way too many times that they were celebrating,’ he said. PSG won their first Champions League title, defeating Inter Milan 5-0. Djokovic joked, ‘Wow, this is a lot of goals from Paris! What’s going on?’

Throughout the match, loud cheers erupted from the nearby stadium, and fireworks were heard as PSG secured their victory. The chair umpire even asked tennis spectators to keep it down, to which they responded with boos and whistles.

“Night sessions are always different,” Djokovic said. “The people are always more excited. Everything is always loud and different from a day session.” Despite the distractions, Djokovic maintained focus, winning all nine sets he played in the tournament so far.

Having never lost to anyone ranked as low as No. 153 Misolic at a Grand Slam, Djokovic took control early on. After 10 break points, he finally converted one to lead 4-2. He ended the match with a solid performance, hitting 33 winners against just 14 unforced errors, while saving the only break point he faced.

Djokovic improved his French Open career record to 99-16, matching his win total at the Australian Open. Looking ahead, he faces Cam Norrie on Monday, holding a 5-0 record against him.

Earlier in the day, Jannik Sinner advanced to the fourth round, beating Jiri Lehecka 6-0, 6-1, 6-2. The match showcased Sinner’s dominance, as he racked up 31 winners and converted seven out of 18 break points.

Sinner, a three-time Grand Slam champion, aims for his first French Open title and will face Andrey Rublev next, who advanced after his opponent withdrew due to injury.

The 2025 French Open commenced on May 25 and will continue until June 8, with the women’s final scheduled for June 7. The atmosphere at Roland Garros continues to buzz with excitement from fans eager to see their favorite players.
