GENEVA, Switzerland — Novak Djokovic, the former No. 1 player in the ATP Rankings, announced a new coaching setup just a week after parting ways with Andy Murray. The announcement came during a press conference ahead of the Gonet Geneva Open.

At the conference, Djokovic revealed he will work with two familiar figures: Dusan Vemic and Boris Bosnjakovic. Vemic, who formerly captained the Serbian Billie Jean King Cup team, has a long history with Djokovic as part of his coaching staff in the past. Bosnjakovic will serve as Djokovic’s assistant coach and analyst. Both will share coaching responsibilities for this tournament and the French Open.

“I’m happy the way it is and then we’ll see after Paris,” said Djokovic, indicating he does not feel pressured to find a long-term head coach. Since beginning his collaboration with Murray in November 2024, they competed in the Australian Open, where Djokovic reached the semifinals but withdrew due to injury. They did not claim any titles together.

Djokovic touched on his disappointing start to the 2025 season, recording a 12-6 match record and not winning any titles since his Olympic gold in Paris last year. Early exits at the Monte Carlo and Madrid Opens have heightened expectations for his performance in Geneva.

As he gears up to pursue his 100th tour-level title, Djokovic’s first challenge at the Geneva Open will be against Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics, a player he has never lost to, leading their head-to-head series 5-0.

“It was nice being among my people in Serbia; it gives me motivation,” Djokovic remarked about his recent training before the Geneva event. His journey toward that elusive 100th title continues with renewed focus and a familiar support team as he prepares for the upcoming challenges.
