Friday’s NYT Connections Tips: April 4 Puzzle Hints and Answers

NEW YORK, April 3, 2025 — As weekend approaches, fans of word games can explore the latest edition of New York Times Connections, a daily puzzle that aims to challenge players’ linguistic skills. Released at midnight, the game consists of 16 words requiring players to form four groups of four by identifying commonalities among them.
Today’s game offers various categories, ranging from straightforward themes to more intricate wordplay. Each grouping is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest and purple the most challenging. To prevent frustration, players can shuffle the words to better visualize possible links.
“Connections has gained popularity as it engages players in social settings,” said Kris Holt, a writer who covers video games and world games. “It’s not just about solving the puzzle; it’s about sharing your experience with others and discussing strategies.”
This puzzle introduces themes such as baseball venues and car trips. Each grouping includes:
— Yellow group: Themed around baseball venues with answers of diamond, field, park, and stadium.
— Green group: Consists of terms related to car trips: cruise, drive, ride, and spin.
— Blue group: What’s leftover, featuring balance, difference, remainder, and rest.
— Purple group: Companies with an “E” removed, which includes bay, harmony, ink, and trade.
Players enjoy playing Connections through the website or the NYT Games app, which also provides access to an archive of previous puzzles for those wishing to revisit earlier challenges. Mistakes are limited, with players allowed four incorrect guesses before the game ends.
The developer of Connections, Wyna Liu, has noted that the game was designed to be both entertaining and thought-provoking, much like its predecessor, Wordle. An analysis of players’ performance is also available for those who participate in the game regularly.
As the game gets progressively more difficult, Holt encourages players to find like-minded individuals to form a community. “Sharing hints and discussing strategies can enhance the experience and help bridge the gap in understanding more challenging puzzles,” he said.
Expect new grids to appear every day, keeping fans of word games engaged. Check back tomorrow for the next round of hints and answers!
