Obituaries: Remembering Lives Lost on September 1, 2025

Port Huron, MI — Three beloved individuals passed away on September 1, 2025, leaving behind cherished memories and legacies for their families and friends.
William “Bill” Williams, 76, formerly of Marysville, MI, died peacefully at home. He was born on August 5, 1949, in Port Huron, to George and June Williams. After graduating from Marysville High School in 1968, he served in the United States Air Force and earned a degree in business administration from Western Michigan University. Bill spent 25 years with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service before retiring in 2006. He was a passionate sports fan, particularly of the Detroit Lions, and enjoyed fishing on Michigan’s lakes. He is survived by his wife, Constance, their son Dennis, several grandchildren, and his brothers.
A memorial service for Bill will be held at 11 a.m. on October 4, 2025, at Lakeside Cemetery chapel, with visitation from 10-11 a.m.
Donna Marie Newton, 84, of Concord, NC, also passed away on the same day. Born on July 13, 1941, in Iowa, she is remembered for her love and adventures as a truck driver with her late husband, Bill. Survived by her children Penny and Dave, and many grandchildren, Donna was dedicated to her family and enjoyed gardening and collecting. Her funeral service will be on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord.
William “Bill” Thomas Nations, 79, of Whittier, NC, passed away on August 29, 2025. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Bill dedicated his life to his family and community. He is survived by his wife Sheila, children, and grandchildren. A service will be held on September 2, 2025, at Wilmot Baptist Church.
