Anduril Industries Arsenal 1 Facility Rendering Ohio

COLUMBUS, OhioCalifornia-based defense technology company Anduril Industries announced plans Wednesday to build a five-million-square-foot facility in Pickaway County, Ohio, creating more than 4,000 jobs by 2035. The project, named Arsenal-1, represents the largest single job creation initiative in Ohio’s history.

Gov. Mike DeWine, Lt. Gov. Jon Husted, and JobsOhio revealed the $900 million investment during a press conference. The facility will be located on 500 acres near Rickenbacker International Airport and is expected to contribute nearly $1 billion to Ohio’s gross domestic product.

“Ohio’s history of advancing aviation, aerospace, and national defense runs deep, but what sets this state apart is our readiness to embrace the future,” DeWine said. “At this critical moment in time, our country needs rapid technological innovation, which Anduril will deliver using Ohio’s skilled, hardworking labor force.”

The project is projected to generate 4,500 indirect and induced jobs over the next decade, along with $2 billion in annual economic output. State officials estimate the facility will produce $1 billion in labor income and $800 million in tax revenues.

Anduril’s decision to locate in Ohio was influenced by the state’s business-friendly environment, skilled workforce, and strong military ties. “When it comes to ‘Made in America,’ you can’t do it without ‘Made in Ohio,'” Husted said.

The company plans to begin construction immediately after state and local approvals, with the first products expected to roll out in July 2026. The project will seek a Job Creation Tax Credit and $70 million from the All Ohio Future Fund.

JobsOhio, the state’s private economic development corporation, will provide grant assistance and workforce development support. The exact amount of the JobsOhio Grant will be disclosed at a later date.
