Oklahoma Alabama Softball Game April 2025

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners (35-3, 9-3 SEC) travel to face No. 22 Alabama (28-15, 5-7 SEC) in a pivotal three-game Southeastern Conference series from April 12 to April 14 at Rhoads Stadium.

This series marks the first meeting between the two teams in Tuscaloosa since the NCAA Super Regionals in 2015. Broadcasts for the games include ESPN2 for Saturday’s opener at 3 p.m. CT and SEC Network for Sunday and Monday matches, airing at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. CT, respectively. All games will also be available on The Franchise 2 (1560 AM and 103.3 FM).

Oklahoma recently secured a victory over Oklahoma State, scoring 11 unanswered runs in an 11-3 win on April 9. The Sooners have consistently dominated ranked opponents, posting a 10-2 record this season against top-25 teams, with a 7-2 mark against SEC rivals.

Alabama enters the series looking to rebound after losing its last two SEC games against LSU. They hold a 17-6 record at home this season and are known for their offensive capabilities, ranking first in the SEC with 96 stolen bases and 25 double plays.

“This weekend is crucial for both teams,” said Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy. “We need to prove ourselves against the defending champions and show that we can compete.”

In the last encounter between the two programs, Oklahoma triumphed 7-3 in the 2019 Women’s College World Series.

Alabama’s Audrey Vandagriff leads the team with a .432 batting average, while fellow players Catelyn Riley and Brooke Ellestad contribute significantly on the mound and at the plate, respectively.

“The atmosphere in Tuscaloosa is electric, and this series has postseason implications,” said Oklahoma coach Patty Gasso.

The Sooners will rely on their consistent offensive lineup, with notable performances from players like Kasidi Pickering, who recorded a recent home run and boasts a powerful batting average of .448.

As playoffs approach, each game in this critical series could shape the trajectory for both teams heading into postseason play.
