Omaha Supernovas Volleyball Game

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Omaha Supernovas clinched the Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF) regular-season championship with a 19-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-21 victory over the Grand Rapids Rise on Friday. With this win, Omaha secured their position at the top of the standings, finishing the season with a record of 20-7.

The Supernovas’ victory marks their third consecutive win, putting them one game ahead of the Atlanta Vibe, who will host Omaha in the regular-season finale on Sunday. Despite Atlanta’s proximity, Omaha has already secured the No. 1 seed for the upcoming PVF championship in Las Vegas next weekend.

In the match against Grand Rapids, the Rise initially controlled the first set, leading with a strong performance that included six ties, the last coming at 16-16 before they closed the set with a 9-3 run. However, Omaha fought back in the second set, taking their first lead at 10-9 and pushing through with a significant 10-3 run, highlighted by four kills from Brooke Nuneviller.

The third set saw the Supernovas maintain control with an early three-point lead and finishing with a set-ending attack error from Grand Rapids. Omaha continued to display their strength in the fourth set, where Emily Londot contributed five kills as the Supernovas secured the match. Reagan Cooper‘s kill ended the contest, showcasing Omaha’s depth, with Nuneviller earning 18 kills and Cooper contributing 15.

The Supernovas, who hit .321 as a team, also benefited from solid defensive efforts, with Kaitlyn Hord achieving five blocks. Mac Podraza notched 35 assists alongside her five kills.

Omaha is set to enter the PVF semifinals this Friday in Henderson, Nevada, looking to pursue their second consecutive championship title.
