Orlando Pride Face Washington Spirit at Pups of Pride Night

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Pride return to Inter&Co Stadium this Saturday, April 19, at 5:00 PM for their highly anticipated Pups of Pride night against the Washington Spirit. This match marks the second meeting between the two teams this year and the first in the regular season. With gates opening at 4:00 PM, fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy pre-match activities.
Mane Street Plaza, presented by Publix, will open at 3:00 PM featuring family-oriented activities like a photo booth, speed kick, free kick challenge, and a dog obstacle course. Food trucks and giveaways from partners will also be available. This event allows fans to bring their pets along, enhancing the festive atmosphere.
“We want to make that a hostile environment with the fans coming out and supporting us,” said Head Coach Seb Hines. “It should turn out to be an entertaining game as both teams are in good form, and we hope to secure three points.”
In addition to the activities, a limited number of dog bandanas will be distributed as part of the gate giveaway, and fans can purchase the Merch of the Match: the exclusive Pups of Pride shirt and patch, available at all retail locations in the stadium.
This match follows the Pride’s recent victory over Seattle Reign FC, where Barbra Banda scored the team’s only goal, bringing her season total to three and her career total to sixteen. The team remains in strong form with four consecutive wins to start the season.
The Pride are currently on a remarkable home streak, remaining unbeaten in 22 matches, tied for the NWSL record for consecutive home games without defeat. “Our backline has been solid,” said Hines, discussing the team’s defensive performance. “Anna Moorhouse did an incredible job in goal, and our defenders made significant contributions to keep the clean sheet.”
As Saturday’s match approaches, the team is maintaining focus while looking forward to building on their recent successes. Fans are reminded not to bring bags larger than 4.5” x 6.5” to expedite the entry process, although clear totes up to 14” x 14” x 6” are permitted. There will also be sensory bags available for those who may need them due to fireworks and pyrotechnics occurring during the match.
Looking ahead, the Pride will continue their home stand against Angel City FC on Friday, April 25, at 8:00 PM. With continued support from fans, the Pride hope to achieve further successes this season.
