2025 Oscars Rehearsals: Stars Prep for Hollywood’s Biggest Night

LOS ANGELES (AP) — As the countdown to the 97th Academy Awards continues, Hollywood’s biggest stars took to the stage at the Dolby Theatre for final rehearsals on Saturday. The Oscars will air live on Sunday, March 2, at 7 p.m. ET on ABC and streaming on Hulu.

Among the presenters, Emma Stone was seen preparing for her role, despite not being a nominee this year. Clad in a brown shirt jacket and jeans, she joked during her rehearsal, “Oh God, this is going to go great,” before successfully delivering her lines with a stand-in.

Many A-listers, including Whoopi Goldberg, Oprah Winfrey, and Sterling K. Brown, participated in the rehearsal, practicing their presentations in casual attire. Winfrey and Goldberg, both past Oscar nominees for their performance in Steven Spielberg‘s “The Color Purple,” received a rare standing ovation from the production staff during their practice.

Garfield embraced the rehearsal atmosphere, displaying chemistry with co-presenter Goldie Hawn. The duo rehearsed their segments for presenting the awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Animated Short. Hawn, dressed in a loose black pantsuit, incidentally fumbled her lines at one point but laughed it off, saying, “Okay, here we go.” Garfield shared light moments, helping to maintain a jovial vibe.

Other stars, like Miles Teller and Sterling K. Brown, chose comfortably casual outfits, with Teller donning a baseball cap and Brown opting for athletic wear. Brown will co-present with Ana de Armas during the ceremony.

Among the stars, Da'Vine Joy Randolph rehearsed in a floral jumpsuit, while emphasizing her presence at the awards after winning an Oscar the previous year. The energy was contagious as A-listers mingled and offered support, with Garfield warmly hugging Hawn during their run-through.

The vibrant atmosphere was palpable as presenters navigated the grand Dolby Theatre stage filled with practice props and cardboard cutouts of nominees. Stone took a moment to wave at the audience stand-ins, playfully addressing them by the names of actual nominees seated in the theater, before presenting a mock Oscar.

As the rehearsals wrapped up, cast members broke for lunch, gearing up for what promises to be an unforgettable evening. The 2025 Oscars are set to remind audiences of Hollywood’s most dazzling talents.
