Pachuca and RB Salzburg Face Off in Club World Cup Showdown

CINCINNATI, Ohio — Mexican club CF Pachuca is set to play Austrian team RB Salzburg on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at TQL Stadium as both teams kick off their campaigns in the FIFA Club World Cup. With a history of ups and downs, both teams are eager for points in Group A, where powerhouse clubs like Real Madrid also compete.
Pachuca aims for a strong performance after finishing low in their domestic league. The team last made a Club World Cup appearance in 2018 and is hungry for success. Their journey to this tournament began with a victory in the 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup.
“We’ve learned a lot from our past experiences,” Pachuca’s coach said in a press conference. “We want to show our true potential on the world stage.”
RB Salzburg, on the other hand, faces the pressure of overcoming a disappointing end to their domestic season. After winning 11 consecutive Austrian Bundesliga titles, they fell short this year and finished third behind Sturm Graz and Austria Wien.
This tournament presents an opportunity for redemption. “We know we have a tough group, but we believe in our abilities,” said Salzburg’s captain. “Every match is a chance to prove ourselves.”
The match will kick off at 6 p.m. ET, and while it won’t be available for live TV broadcast in the United States, it can be streamed through DAZN. Fans are encouraged to check local listings for streaming options.
Pachuca is also scheduled to face Real Madrid on June 22 and Al Hilal on June 26. Salzburg will play the same teams on the same dates, adding to the competitive intensity of this year’s Club World Cup.
