GREEN BAY, Wis. — Keisean Nixon is making waves in Green Bay as he embraces a new role as a recruiter for the Packers ahead of the upcoming NFL free agency. On Feb. 11, 2025, Nixon took to Twitter to reach out to former teammates in hopes of enticing them to join the Packers.
Nixon’s social media activity sparked interest after he responded to a post suggesting that defensive end Maxx Crosby would be a perfect fit for the Packers. Nixon tweeted, “Yo Tae pull bac Up— K9 (@keiseannixon),” referencing former teammate Davante Adams.
This comes just one week after running back Josh Jacobs also openly recruited Adams during a game, showcasing the camaraderie among players and their desire to attract high-caliber talent to Green Bay.
Nixon’s enthusiasm highlights the NFL’s informal recruitment landscape where players are free to communicate with one another, unlike team officials who face restrictions. Last offseason, the Minnesota Vikings incurred penalties, losing a fifth-round pick after Coach Kevin O’Connell improperly communicated with quarterback Kirk Cousins before free agency.
As the new league year approaches, which begins in March, the buzz around potential signings is expected to intensify. Teams and players alike are likely to ramp up their recruitment efforts as free agency draws near, setting the stage for significant changes in team rosters.
“It’s all about building relationships and bringing talent together,” Nixon remarked in a recent interview. “I’m just trying to help the team by reaching out to guys I know can make a difference.”
