Florida Panthers Morning Skate Nhl Playoffs

SUNRISE, Fla. — The Florida Panthers are set to face the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday night for Game 4 of their NHL playoff series, hoping to rebound after a tough loss. This game is crucial as a victory would give the Panthers a commanding 3-1 lead in the series.

The Panthers took to the ice for a morning skate ahead of the 7 p.m. faceoff, making an important lineup change. Right winger A.J. Greer will make his debut, stepping in for Mackie Samoskevich, who will not play.

In Game 3 on Saturday, the Panthers got off to a strong start with Matthew Tkachuk scoring just under three minutes into the game. However, the Lightning responded with five unanswered goals, ending the game 5-1 in favor of Tampa Bay.

Center Anton Lundell emphasized the need for greater toughness from his team, stating, “They’re great players, and we know how effective they can be. We just have to take the timing and space away from them and play hard against them.”

Coach Paul Maurice noted that Greer’s addition could be a significant factor in the game. “I’m happy to join the group and be a part of it. I can’t wait to join our fans,” Greer said, expressing his enthusiasm for the matchup. Maurice also reassured that Samoskevich’s absence is temporary and that the decision was made to aid in his long-term development.

If the Panthers secure a win on Monday, they will put themselves in an advantageous position in the series against their cross-state rivals.
