Panthers Prepare for NFL Draft with Key Player Targets

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — As the NFL Draft approaches, Carolina Panthers General Manager Dan Morgan is making strategic moves. After completing multiple trades, including one with the Dallas Cowboys, he faces a hectic schedule leading to the draft on April 26, 2025. Morgan, a seasoned player in draft management, has acquired several valuable picks from other teams.
The Panthers currently hold five remaining picks, all obtained through trades, creating an unpredictable draft scenario. Their fourth-round pick is No. 114, and Morgan might not stop there. ‘I have to check the board,’ he joked with reporters standing outside the team’s facilities on Friday.
Players expected to be high on the Panthers’ draft board include Billy Bowman Jr. from Oklahoma, who led the Big 12 with six interceptions last season. Draft expert Dane Brugler praised Bowman for his intelligence and skill, describing him as one of the best safeties available.
Another prospect is Lathan Ransom from Ohio State, noted for his strong performances as a free safety and consistency in tackling. Brugler believes Ransom has potential to become an NFL starter.
Malachi Moore from Alabama is also on the Panthers’ radar. The four-year starter recorded seven interceptions during his career and is considered a versatile player capable of making an impact in pass coverage and run defense.
Other players like Jaylen Reed from Penn State and Quincy Riley from Louisville have shown promise, boasting impressive statistics from their college careers that make them potential candidates for the Panthers’ roster.
As the draft day nears, the Panthers look poised to strengthen their lineup and fill key positions with select talent, aligning with Morgan’s aggressive management style. The excitement builds for what is to come.
