Panthers Prevail in Game 4, Tying Series Against Maple Leafs

Sunrise, Florida – The defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers evened their Eastern Conference playoff series against the Toronto Maple Leafs with a decisive 2-0 victory in Game 4 on May 11, 2025. The series is now tied at two games apiece.
The Panthers took an early lead with a power-play goal by Sam Bennett in the first period. They later padded their advantage with a second goal in the third period, putting the game out of reach for the Maple Leafs.
“We executed our game plan perfectly, and the defense stepped up big time,” Panthers coach Paul Maurice said after the game.
With the Maple Leafs needing two goals to tie, they struggled to mount a comeback. The Panthers’ solid defense and effective goaltending from Sergei Bobrovsky kept Toronto at bay, allowing only 18 shots on goal throughout the match.
The matchup saw intense competition and physical plays, with the Maple Leafs recording 40 hits compared to 39 from the Panthers. Despite the Leafs’ efforts, they could not capitalize on the six power plays they earned.
“It’s tough to lose when you have that many chances,” said Maple Leafs forward William Nylander. “We need to find a way to get the puck in the net next game.”
Game 5 will take place in Toronto on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 7 p.m. ET, as both teams continue their pursuit of a spot in the conference finals.
