Nashville, TN — Parker McCollum is making waves in the country music scene with the release of his new single “Big Sky,” from his upcoming self-titled album, set to drop on June 27.

“Big Sky” is described as a “wanderer’s anthem about boundless freedom while still looking for something to be tethered to.” The upbeat track follows McCollum’s hit singles “What Kinda Man” and “Hope That I’m Enough,” which have been well-received by fans.

On Thursday night, McCollum will be a presenter at the Academy of Country Music Awards, streaming live at 8 p.m. ET on Prime Video. As he prepares for the awards, he is also gearing up for his own tour and will open for legendary country artist George Strait on select dates this summer.

Teasing the new single on social media, McCollum shared a live performance clip captioned, “new one coming at ya soon.” The excitement around the song has attracted attention from fans and fellow artists alike, with country singer ERNEST commenting simply, “Yes” on one of McCollum’s posts.

The track features a carefree drum beat, electric guitar riffs, and a laid-back vibe reminiscent of John Mayer. Lyrically, “Big Sky” expresses themes of wandering and searching for companionship in an expansive world.

“I just wander through the wild, someone come and save me,” McCollum sings, capturing the essence of solitude and freedom that resonates throughout the song.

In his lyrics, McCollum recounts experiences from his adventures, such as waking up on a “Tulsa street” and feeling lost. The song hints at past heartbreaks and the pursuit of a new beginning as he navigates through life.

As the anticipation for his album continues to build, McCollum promises fans a blend of traditional and contemporary sounds that made his previous work beloved. At a recent show, he expressed his hope for the album’s reception: “I really hope you guys love it.” Fans can expect an engaging collection as McCollum straddles the line between country music’s roots and modern influences.
