New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is managing some injury concerns following his debut NFL start last Sunday. According to Wednesday’s injury report, Maye is dealing with a knee injury but participated fully in practice at the Patriots’ Gillette Stadium. Despite his participation, reports on the social media platform X indicated that Maye underwent an MRI post-practice, rendering his condition a situation worth monitoring.

The Patriots are scheduled to depart for London on Thursday evening to face the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium on Sunday. In his debut, Maye was sacked four times and hit an additional eight times in the team’s 41-21 defeat by the Houston Texans. “I feel all right. I think you’re playing quarterback in the NFL, you’re going to be sore the next day,” Maye stated post-game. “That’s part of it. Probably can do a better job of getting down or throwing it away,” he added, reflecting on the sacks he took during the match.

The rookie’s potential lingering injury could pose a significant setback for the Patriots’ offense, which showed promise with Maye, who threw three touchdowns and amassed 281 total yards against the Texans. While Maye remains a full practice participant, several key Patriots players have been restricted or sidelined due to injuries.

Running back Rhamondre Stevenson did not partake in Wednesday’s practice, still contending with the foot injury that kept him from playing against Houston. Stepping into the backfield limelight, Maye led the team in rushing yards with a mere 38, while Antonio Gibson averaged a mere 1.5 yards per carry in Stevenson’s absence.

Additional injury concerns for the Patriots include left tackle Vederian Lowe, who missed practice due to an ankle injury, and cornerback Marcus Jones, suffering from groin and illness issues. The published injury report lists these absentees and other personnel within the team struggling with various ailments but practicing to some extent:
