Peaky Blinders Star Paul Anderson Seen In London After Drug Possession Case

Peaky Blinders‘ famed actor Paul Anderson, known for his role as Arthur Shelby, was recently spotted in London after his drug possession case.

Anderson, who played the volatile character Arthur Shelby on the acclaimed gangster series, pleaded guilty to possessing class A crack cocaine, as well as class B amphetamines and two class C prescription substances last year.

The troubled actor was fined £1,345 following the charges and was seen looking disheveled while out and about in London.

Peaky Blinders, a show set in Birmingham, England, post-World War I, revolved around the Shelby crime family, including Tommy played by Cillian Murphy, Arthur (Anderson), John played by Joe Cole, and other notable characters like Helen McCrory’s Aunt Polly and Tom Hardy’s Alfie.

In an interview, Paul Anderson shared his appreciation for playing Arthur Shelby, stating that such dark and violent characters offered depth and complexity beyond the obvious brutishness of their nature.

Various stars like Paddy Considine, Tom Hardy, and Adrien Brody made appearances on the show, adding to its diverse cast of well-portrayed characters of the criminal underworld.

Creator Steven Knight had previously decided to bring back Tom Hardy’s character Alfie, indicating a willingness to cater to fans’ desires and the character’s popularity on the show.

Anderson’s portrayal of Arthur often involved complex storylines surrounding drugs, showcasing the character’s chaotic yet compelling journey within the Shelby family.

As a result of Anderson’s recent drug charges, potential implications on his role in the rumored ‘Peaky Blinders’ movie have been highlighted, with sources suggesting that his legal issues could jeopardize the character’s involvement in the film.

While the movie’s future remains uncertain, Cillian Murphy, who played Tommy on the show, expressed openness to reprising his role with the right script, hinting at the possibility of further story development.
