Phillies Pitcher Zack Wheeler Reinstated from Paternity List

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Phillies pitcher Zack Wheeler was reinstated from the paternity list on June 9, 2025, ahead of his scheduled start against the Chicago Cubs.
In a related move, the Phillies optioned pitcher Daniel Robert to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Wheeler, who holds a 6-2 record this season, has made 12 starts and boasts a 2.96 ERA along with 94 strikeouts and 18 walks over 76 innings of play.
This matchup against the Cubs poses a challenge for Wheeler, as Chicago ranks fourth in on-base plus slugging (OPS) against right-handed pitchers in 2025. The performance of the lineup could test Wheeler’s skills on the mound as he returns to action.
Wheeler will aim to help his team secure a win as they continue to battle in the competitive landscape of Major League Baseball.
