Pokémon Company Announces Major Updates And New Games On Pokémon Day

The Pokémon Company marked Pokémon Day with a series of exciting announcements during their Pokémon Presents event. Celebrating the legacy of the iconic franchise, fans were treated to a glimpse of new games, updates, and events to look forward to in the coming year.

One of the key reveals was ‘Pokémon Legends: Z-A,’ a mysterious new game set in the bustling streets of Lumiose City. The teaser trailer hinted at an urban redevelopment project in the Kalos region, promising players an immersive and ambitious adventure. Scheduled for a global release in 2025, the game by Game Freak builds on the success of ‘Pokémon Legends: Arceus.’

Additionally, the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket app was unveiled, offering fans a digital platform to collect, trade, and battle with Pokémon cards. Developed by Creatures Inc. and The Pokémon Company, the app introduces unique features like ‘immersive cards’ that bring the illustrations to life. Set to launch in 2024, players can expect daily booster pack openings and quick battles based on the classic TCG mechanics.

For players of ‘Pokémon Scarlet‘ and ‘Pokémon Violet,’ Tera Raid Battles featuring iconic Pokémon like Venusaur, Blastoise, and Charizard were announced. The events will run consecutively, allowing trainers to test their skills and earn special rewards from Feb. 28 to March 17.

In the world of ‘Pokémon Go,’ the upcoming Pokémon Horizons event will introduce new characters like Ceruledge, Charcadet, and Armarouge, along with the expressive Captain Pikachu wearing a special hat. The event is scheduled to take place from March 5 to March 11, bringing fresh content to the popular mobile game.

Other updates include the arrival of Raikou in ‘Pokémon Sleep’ in March 2024, and the 4.5-year anniversary celebration of ‘Pokémon Masters Ex’ with new characters like Geeta, Glimmora, and Sygna Suit Gladion. ‘Pokémon Cafe Remix’ welcomes the enigmatic Gimmighoul, while ‘Pokémon Unite’ adds Miraidon, Falinks, and Ceruledge to its roster.
