Protests Disrupt Gal Gadot’s Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony

LOS ANGELES, March 18, 2025 — Pro-Palestinian and pro-Israel protesters disrupted Gal Gadot‘s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony Tuesday morning, delaying the event and forcing police intervention.
Just before the ceremony was set to begin, several dozen demonstrators gathered along Hollywood Boulevard, brandishing signs with messages such as “Heroes Fight Like Palestinians” and “No Other Land Won Oscar.” The conflicting groups shouted slogans, including “Up up with liberation, down down with occupation” and “Not another nickel, not another dime, no more money for Israel’s crime.”
Roma Ealaicos, a pro-Palestinian protester, expressed frustration over the situation in Gaza, stating, “We’re all really upset about what’s happening in Gaza right now. There’s no reason we should be celebrating an Israeli,” referring to Gadot. Ealaicos criticized the actress for not using her platform to address the ongoing conflict.
On the opposing side, content creator Dana Nikri held an Israeli flag, sharing her pain over the violence. “They come [to] our home and take us from our home and give us dead children,” she said. “We don’t start war, we don’t want war at all.”
Despite the protests, the ceremony commenced approximately 15 minutes late, with police responding to the situation after a pro-Palestinian protester allegedly stole an Israeli flag.
Gadot, who is known for her role as Wonder Woman, was honored during the ceremony, which was emceed by Steve Nissen and attended by notable figures including Vin Diesel and director Patty Jenkins. “I’m just a girl from a town in Israel. This star will remind me that with hard work and passion and some faith, anything is possible,” Gadot said at the podium. She expressed gratitude towards Diesel for his support in her early career.
Gadot referenced her journey within the film industry, stating, “You took a chance on a complete unknown and invited me to the ‘Fast and Furious’ family,” reflecting on how Diesel’s faith in her changed the course of her life.
She also acknowledged her relationship with Jenkins, calling her a “Wonder Woman behind the camera,” and credited her with guiding her with compassion and love.
Following her speech, Gadot reiterated her commitment to both her career and personal life, emphasizing her dedication to family, especially her four daughters, who attended the ceremony.
Amidst the honor, Gadot’s political stance has drawn attention, particularly following the October 2023 Hamas attack on Israel. She has openly supported Israel on social media and has faced backlash for her comments, including a speech at the Anti-Defamation League’s annual summit where she highlighted her shock at the lack of condemnation for Hamas acts. “I could not be silent,” she said in a pre-ceremony interview, stressing her need to speak out after the attack.
Compounding the ceremony’s complications, Gadot’s recent co-star Rachel Zegler openly supports the Free Palestine movement, leading to speculation about tensions between the two actresses ahead of the release of Disney‘s upcoming live-action Snow White.
The protests at Gadot’s ceremony reflect larger societal divides surrounding current events, showcasing how public figures can find themselves at the intersection of entertainment and international politics.
