Pyramids FC Faces Key Match in Champions League Final

CAIRO, Egypt — Pyramids FC prepares for a historic showdown in the African Champions League final against Mamelodi Sundowns on June 5, 2025. This is the club’s first-ever appearance in the final, making it a pivotal moment for the team.

Coach Krunoslav Jurcic emphasized the significance of the match, labeling it a ‘miracle’ given the strong fan allegiance to rival teams Al Ahly and Zamalek in Cairo. Since relocating and rebranding in 2018, Pyramids has sought to make its mark in Egyptian football.

Despite impressive performances, including a semi-final victory against Orlando Pirates, Pyramids struggles to attract a loyal fanbase. Local support remains fiercely divided, presenting challenges as they aim for a Champions League title.

However, Sundowns’ coach Miguel Cardoso believes such factors will not influence the outcome of the final. “Crowd size and previous matches have no effect on what happens on the day,” he stated.
