Rahul Gandhi Flags Off Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra From Manipur

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has kickstarted the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Thoubal district in Manipur, with a call to build a harmonious and equitable society. The yatra aims to highlight social issues such as unemployment, price rise, and social justice ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Covering a distance of 6,713 km in buses and on foot, the yatra will pass through 15 states and 100 Lok Sabha constituencies, culminating in Mumbai by March 20 or 21.

Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, an ideological campaign, focuses on addressing what he calls the politics of violence, hatred, and monopoly propagated by the BJP. Speaking at the launch event, he expressed empathy for the people of Manipur, stating that the state symbolizes the BJP and RSS’s politics of hate. With an aim to restore harmony, peace, and affection, Gandhi pledged to understand the pain and vision of India by listening to the people’s voices.

During the event, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also lambasted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his use of Ram for electoral gains. Kharge accused the BJP of indulging in deception for votes and blending religion with politics. Refusing an invitation to attend the Ram Temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya, the Congress leaders denounced the mixing of religion and politics.

The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra serves as a follow-up to Gandhi’s previous cross-country march, aiming to address economic, social, and political injustices in India. It highlights the growing wealth disparity, unemployment, and lack of representation for lower castes and marginalized communities. Through this yatra, Gandhi intends to craft a vision for an equitable and harmonious society, devoid of violence, hatred, and monopoly.
