Rain Chances Increase as Subtropical Moisture Moves into San Diego

San Diego, California – A low-pressure system to the west is set to bring subtropical moisture from the south on Sunday, leading to increased chances for rain across San Diego County as the weekend concludes. Light rainfall is expected early Sunday morning, with chances becoming more significant in the afternoon.
Weather forecasts indicate that precipitation amounts will likely remain light, unless heavier rain cells develop. Residents can expect temperatures to drop slightly below seasonal norms, especially in areas east of the coast.
The low-pressure system off the west coast will continue to strengthen, keeping rain chances alive through at least Tuesday. As fall officially begins on Monday, temperatures are expected to remain warm through the first half of the week, before slightly cooling by the weekend. After Tuesday, the forecast predicts a return to drier conditions.
In the meantime, Sunday’s forecast predicts a high of 96°F, with partly cloudy skies and light winds from the southeast at 10 to 15 mph. Overnight lows are expected to be around 75°F.
Meteorologist Mike Slifer emphasized the warm and breezy weather pattern we’ve been experiencing will continue into the weekend. He noted a significant shift in the weather is likely for next week as fall approaches.
With fall just days away, San Diego residents are urged to stay updated with changing weather conditions, especially as rain may impact weekend activities.
