Columbus Ohio Rain Storms Weather Forecast

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Central Ohio residents should prepare for a mix of scattered rain and storms this weekend as cooler temperatures set in.

The rain starts today, with a 70% chance of precipitation. This morning may bring a few isolated showers, but they are expected to intensify this afternoon. Temperatures will rise into the mid-70s, when scattered storms could develop, bringing the potential for gusty winds and hail.

According to the National Weather Service, a cold front moving through the area will provide the best chance for rain later today and into the evening. Rainfall totals by Sunday night are expected to reach between 1 to 2 inches for most of Central Ohio.

Saturday will likely be the wettest day, with steady rain and potential downpours in the forecast. Highs will only reach the upper 50s and lower 60s, accompanied by a 100% chance of rain. Sunday will be mostly cloudy, with a 70% chance of lingering rain and isolated thunderstorms possible.

While the severe weather risk appears lower for this weekend, the weather will remain unsettled. Rain is expected to taper off early next week, with slightly warmer temperatures returning.

The forecast shows highs in the upper 60s for Monday and Tuesday, with a slight chance of rain each day. By mid-week, temperatures are projected to warm back into the 70s with mostly cloudy skies.
