Rams Vikings Wild Card Game State Farm Stadium

GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings faced off in a relocated Wild Card playoff game Monday night, as wildfires raging across California forced the NFL to move the matchup from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The game, which kicked off at 8:15 p.m. ET, aired on ESPN and ABC and streamed on ESPN+.

The Rams, who finished the regular season 10-7 and clinched the NFC West title, overcame a 1-4 start to secure their playoff berth. The Vikings, meanwhile, posted a 14-3 record but entered the playoffs as the NFC’s No. 5 seed due to the Detroit Lions‘ 15-2 performance.

Before kickoff, the Rams honored their home city with a pregame tribute. Singer Rachel Platten, best known for her 2015 hit “Fight Song,” performed the anthem alongside a 200-foot banner reading “L.A. Together.” Retired Rams offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth also addressed the crowd, rallying support for those affected by the wildfires.

“The safety of the Los Angeles community is the top priority of the Rams, and the organization’s thoughts are with everyone affected by the fires in the area,” the team said in a statement. “The team is grateful for the tireless efforts of first responders who continue to protect the city and community as well as individuals who continue to help neighbors in need.”

Rams players and coaches wore Los Angeles Fire Department-themed hats and shirts during the game, with proceeds from merchandise sales benefiting the American Red Cross and the LAFD Foundation. Additionally, game-used jerseys and footballs will be auctioned on NFL Auction, with proceeds also going to wildfire relief efforts.

The relocation marked the second time in four years the Rams have played a postseason game at State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals. The team won Super Bowl LVI at the venue in 2022.
