In a tough match at Hampden Park, Rangers were eliminated from the Champions League after losing 3-1 on aggregate to Dynamo Kyiv. The defeat came after a hard-fought second leg where Rangers had hopes of overturning a 1-1 draw from the first match.

Things took a turn for the worse when Jefte received a red card in the second half after already being booked. His second yellow card came as he contested a header, leaving Rangers to play a man down.

Despite the setback, Rangers initially pressed hard, with players like Cyriel Dessers and Ross McCausland creating chances. They had their moments in the first half but couldn’t find the back of the net.

After holding off Kyiv for over 30 minutes, the home side crumbled. Substitute Oleksandr Pikhalyonok struck first, followed by Nazar Voloshyn, sealing a disappointing night for the Rangers.

The team will now shift their focus to the Europa League group stage, having missed out on the lucrative Champions League benefits. Coach Philippe Clement and the players will likely view this as a missed opportunity.

Rangers fans were left frustrated as they watched the squad struggle against a strong Kyiv side, and there was a palpable sense of disappointment over not advancing to the next round of the competition.
