Rangers Re-Sign Young Forward Rempe to Two-Year Deal

NEW YORK, N.Y. — The New York Rangers announced Wednesday that they have re-signed forward Matthew Rempe to a two-year contract worth $1.95 million.
A source familiar with the deal, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity, revealed that Rempe’s cap hit will be $975,000 for each of the next two NHL seasons. Financial details were not publicly disclosed.
Rempe, 22, has played a total of 70 regular-season and playoff games for the Rangers over the last two seasons. His aggressive style of play and willingness to engage in fights have made him a fan favorite and a respected teammate.
General manager Chris Drury views Rempe as a valuable addition as the Rangers aim to bounce back after missing the playoffs last season. The team previously reached the Eastern Conference final in 2024.
As a sixth-round draft pick in 2020, Rempe has scored five goals and recorded six assists at the NHL level. The organization is hopeful that his development will continue and that he will enhance his performance in the upcoming seasons.
