Raptors Down 76ers 127-109, Philadelphia Loses Eighth Straight Game

PHILADELPHIA, PA — R.J. Barrett scored 31 points to lead the Toronto Raptors to a commanding 127-109 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday night. The win marks the Raptors’ fourth consecutive victory and deepens the 76ers’ struggles, resulting in their eighth straight loss.
Ja’Kobe Walter contributed significantly to Toronto’s success with 17 points, including a productive 5-for-11 from the floor and 3-for-5 from beyond the arc. The Raptors maintained control of the game after seizing the lead early in the second quarter, going into halftime with a 63-49 advantage.
Barrett, who had not scored over 30 points since December 16, propelled Toronto’s offense, particularly in the first half, where he netted 19 points. Philadelphia’s scoring was led by a combined 41 points from their top scorers, who struggled to find consistent rhythm throughout the match.
The Raptors continued to outplay the 76ers, outscoring them by four points in the second half, including a critical 9-2 run to start the fourth quarter, bringing the score to 104-84. Toronto’s ability to capitalize on their scoring opportunities was a key factor in the game.
“We executed our game plan well, especially during critical stretches,” Barrett said post-game. “Everyone contributed, and it’s good to see us building momentum.”
Conversely, the 76ers’ defense has become a significant concern, having allowed at least 110 points in each of their past 19 games. Philadelphia shot only 8 of 29 from three-point range, a statistic that further highlights their ongoing offensive struggles.
<p“Defensively, we’ve got to be better,” said 76ers’ coach. “These are moments we have to learn from and push forward.”
Looking ahead, the Raptors will face the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night, while the 76ers will travel to New York to take on the Knicks, seeking to turn their fortunes around.
