Real Madrid Advances in Pursuit of Bournemouth Star Dean Huijsen

Madrid, Spain – Real Madrid is in talks with Bournemouth and the representatives of defender Dean Huijsen regarding a potential transfer. The 20-year-old Dutch international has a £50 million release clause and is attracting interest from several European clubs, but he prefers a move to Madrid.
Huijsen has made a remarkable impact during his first season in the Premier League, with 34 appearances and three goals for Bournemouth. He has played a crucial role in the team’s success under manager Andoni Iraola, contributing to their attractive style of play.
Other clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal, have expressed interest in Huijsen and have been monitoring his situation closely. Chelsea has also listed him among their defensive targets as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the summer transfer window.
However, recent reports suggest that Chelsea may need to pivot to other targets as Real Madrid gains momentum in signing Huijsen. The Spanish club, expected to be managed next season by Xabi Alonso, is reportedly prepared to offer a significantly higher salary than Chelsea can provide.
While Bournemouth would make a profit from Huijsen’s sale, losing him would be a significant blow to the club. Despite the speculation about his future, Iraola praised Huijsen for his focus and performance during training and matches, emphasizing the young player’s resilience against external pressures.
In addition to his club success, Huijsen earned his first call-up to the Spanish national team in March, marking a notable step in his burgeoning career. His future remains uncertain, but all signs suggest that a move to Real Madrid is becoming more likely as negotiations progress.
“I see him training well and playing well,” said Iraola, “He remains in a good mood and is handling the situation maturely.”
